Mai Son - National Highway 45 has many infrastructure shortcomings and accident risks

TPO - Opened and put into operation for nearly a year now, the Mai Son ( Ninh Binh ) - National Highway 45 (Thanh Hoa) is still littered with construction works, causing many sections to have the speed limit reduced to only 40 km/h, causing surprise and frustration for traffic participants.

After nearly 1 year of opening to traffic (April 30, 2023), the construction site and construction fences still exist within the expressway at many locations and sections.

Currently, the project still has two intersections, Thieu Giao (Thieu Hoa) and Dong Thang (Trieu Son, Thanh Hoa), that have not been completed, and the construction site is still partially fenced off for construction.

Construction sites at these intersections are still messy, occupying part of the highway lane, causing difficulties and dangers for traffic.

In some areas, construction units cut down protective corrugated iron fences to open paths for construction vehicles and workers to enter and exit the highway.

In addition to the construction sites at intersections that are behind schedule, many workers and local residents also take advantage of these construction sites to cross the road, regardless of the danger.

The current speed limit on the Mai Son - National Highway 45 is 90 km/h, but at the section passing through construction sites, it was suddenly lowered to 60 km/h, even 40 km/h.

In addition to some intersections under construction, the investor, Thang Long Project Management Board, has not yet built a system of rest stops on the route according to the schedule directed by the Ministry of Transport .
