But Ms. Le Thi Dam (66 years old, living on Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street, An Ninh Commune, Chau Thanh District, Soc Trang Province) - the owner of this royal poinciana tree said: "Four years ago, I bought a tree from a local to plant in front of the fence.

At that time, the tree was about 1 meter tall, with a trunk as big as an adult’s wrist. After a year of planting, the tree produced yellow flowers, not red. Seeing the strange royal poinciana flowers, many people came to see and take pictures as souvenirs.

Many people have asked to buy it, but I don't sell it because I grow it for shade. Moreover, it is a rare yellow flower tree, so I keep it as a souvenir."

According to Ms. Dam, the tree used to have a wide canopy and bloomed brilliantly every season. However, because a part of it protruded onto the road, the authorities cut off some of its branches. Therefore, this year, only a few branches remain on the inside of the roadside.

The royal poinciana tree is four years old.

The tree is currently about 5m tall, with a base circumference of about 70-80cm.

"This is the first time in my life I have seen yellow royal poinciana flowers. I have to admit that the flowers are really beautiful. I am immediately captivated by the bright yellow color," said Mr. Tran Van Hoang, a resident of Ward 7 (Soc Trang city).

According to Mrs. Dam, a few years ago there were many flowers blooming, but this year due to the long drought, much sun and cutting of branches, there are fewer flowers.
