NDO - On November 24, Vietnam Airlines flight number VN214 from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi became more special and meaningful when it carried the heart and organs of a donor from Thong Nhat Hospital (Ho Chi Minh City).

All passengers waited patiently and sympathetically when the airline had to delay the take-off time by 27 minutes to wait for the medical team to complete the necessary procedures at the hospital before going to Tan Son Nhat airport.

Immediately after landing at Noi Bai airport at 4:27 p.m., two teams of four doctors from Viet Duc Hospital ( Hanoi ) quickly transported organs for transplant to two patients at the hospital, continuing the journey with the mission of "revival".

Previously, upon receiving the request from the National Organ Transplant Coordination Center, Vietnam Airlines quickly prioritized booking and issued tickets for the medical team from Viet Duc Hospital to Ho Chi Minh City to receive the organs and transport them to Hanoi on the same day.

Due to strict requirements regarding the time required to preserve the heart and organs, all procedures for the medical team to board the flight were prepared and carried out extremely urgently.

From the time of checking in at the airport until boarding and landing, the medical team is always given priority at every stage to ensure the fastest journey, such as priority check-in, security screening, seating arrangements near the aircraft door, and getting the team off the tarmac quickly.

As the national airline and responsible to the community, for many years, Vietnam Airlines has participated in transporting organs as well as patients and specialized medical equipment to domestic hospitals.

The implementation of coordination with the National Organ Transplant Coordination Center in the process of transporting organs from 2018 to present has helped revive many patients across the country.
