Quang Nam Club still makes the whole V-League worried, anxiously waiting for... investors!

As of 8:00 p.m. on July 25, the future of Quang Nam Club is still uncertain, causing VFF, VPF and V-League clubs to hold their breath and wait for the worst-case scenario in the new season.

THE FUTURE IS STILL UNDETERMINED

As of 8:00 p.m. yesterday, July 25, Quang Nam Club has not yet confirmed whether it will qualify to participate in V-League 2025 - 2026 or not. Previously, there was information that Da Nang City leaders had found a sponsor willing to spend 80 billion VND and several sponsors to join hands with the remaining 20 billion VND. However, all of the above information has not been officially confirmed, causing VFF, VPF and the Organizing Committee of V-League 2025 - 2026 to continue waiting.

Present at Tam Ky Ward ( Da Nang City) to wait for... the decision, Coach Van Sy Son said: "Up to now, I still have to wait for the final decision on the future of the club. The team and I have tried our best to stay in the V-League in a worthy manner, but there is nothing more we can do at this time. We all have to wait for a miracle. Even if Quang Nam Club prepares enough finances for next season, another miracle will be needed because many players have left after the news of the merger with Da Nang Club. If Quang Nam Club is saved, I will do everything I can to gather players as quickly as possible to prepare for the new season."

100 billion to 'rescue' Quang Nam Club: Almost impossible, VFF has an alternative plan

It is known that August 1 will be the deadline for registering players for the 2025-2026 V-League, which means that if Quang Nam Club cannot register players, coaching staff, officials... as prescribed, it will be considered eliminated. Previously, on July 24, VFF sent a document to VPF with plans for the worst case scenario that the 2017 V-League champion will be absent. At that time, the number 1 priority to replace him will be Binh Phuoc Club (runner-up of the first division last season). In case Cong Phuong's team refuses, it will be PVF-CAND's turn.

THE REFLECTION OF FIRST CLASS REPRESENTATIVES

By the end of July 25, the two teams given the opportunity by VFF, Binh Phuoc Club and PVF-CAND, were both silent or politely refused the "jackpot ticket". In theory, Binh Phuoc Club is the most promising candidate when possessing a competitive squad with Cong Phuong, Minh Vuong, Xuan Truong, Van Son, Tan Truong... However, this team has only had the first 1-2 training sessions with new head coach Nguyen Viet Thang (just returned from the AFC Pro certificate course). Binh Phuoc Club's concerns are quite understandable because they have only been training for 2 weeks because the first division will start 5 weeks later than the V-League. If the V-League clubs have finished preparing their physical strength and moved on to compete to adjust, test and assemble tactical pieces, Binh Phuoc Club or PVF-CAND... have only just begun their preparation cycle.

The obvious gap in the preparation cycle makes the first-class clubs, which are already strong and less experienced, not dare to risk playing in the V-League early. In particular, the urgent time does not give them enough time to find foreign players, an extremely important part that determines the results and the way of playing football. In the 2025-2026 season, each first-class club will only have 1 foreign player slot compared to 4 in the V-League. This leads to some ambitious clubs only focusing on finding foreign strikers for the only slot, not paying attention to the profiles of central defenders and midfielders. It is understandable that with such a series of disadvantages, the first-class teams are not interested in the unexpectedly awarded slot to play in the V-League. Because if they rush to be promoted, the possibility of being kicked back to the first-class is very high.

V-League RETURNS TO 13 CLUB MODEL ?

The fact that Binh Phuoc Club and PVF-CAND do not agree to early promotion will put the V-League 2025 - 2026 at risk of having only 13 teams, similar to the precedents of the 2014 and 2022 seasons when Kien Giang and Quang Ninh Clubs withdrew. This will create chaos, when each round has a team that does not compete, losing the continuous playing streak.
