New opportunities - new challenges

On June 21, 2025, we celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, an occasion to honor journalists in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. The year 2025 also marks an important milestone in the history of revolutionary journalism in Hung Yen province in particular and the whole country in general: The merger of Hung Yen Radio and Television into Hung Yen Newspaper to form Hung Yen Newspaper.

As a reader and collaborator with Hung Yen Newspaper for many years, I, like everyone else, realize that this merger is extremely important in order to streamline the organization, improve the operational efficiency of the provincial press agency, and better meet the information and propaganda needs in the new situation of the country.

Hung Yen Newspaper is not only a mouthpiece for propagating the Party and State's guidelines and policies, but also a newspaper that helps readers regularly update cultural, political and current information of localities accurately and richly.

Since 2025, Hung Yen Weekend has published poems, short stories, essays, etc., which has attracted many contributors who are writers and poets in and outside the province to send articles to the newspaper. What is valuable about Hung Yen Newspaper is that it sends royalties and newspaper gifts very promptly and thoughtfully, which is a great source of encouragement for contributors. Many contributors have been with the newspaper for decades. The happiest thing for contributors is when they receive a newspaper with their articles published. We cherish the newspaper like a treasure in our hands, our hearts filled with emotions and indescribable joy...

In the current innovation, Hung Yen Newspaper as well as Vietnamese press in general have many opportunities but also face challenges in adjusting the organization, people and content of press activities, especially the explosion of the internet, social networks and digital media have changed the way the majority of the public receives information. Many fake news and the rapid spread of false information on social networks have caused many readers to lose direction, become confused or lack confidence in society. This situation requires journalists to have qualifications, professional capacity, high ethics and the ability to analyze and evaluate information objectively to promptly meet the needs of readers. Collaborators need to promptly reflect accurate information, have the courage to fight against negativity and protect the interests of the country and the people through their writings.

As a contributor to Hung Yen Newspaper, in my role as a writer, I find it necessary to innovate my creative thinking, constantly learn and improve my ability to apply modern technology to attract readers, while improving the quality of information, ensuring accuracy, objectivity, promptly expanding the scope of influence and interacting with readers through my works.

After decades of working with Hung Yen Newspaper, I realize that Hung Yen Newspaper is a fertile land for nurturing creative passions, a cradle that nurtures the creative souls of many writers, poets and collaborators. Hung Yen Newspaper is truly a cultural bridge for writers to send messages of love and responsibility to their homeland, country, and society to a wide range of readers.
