Opportunity to improve knowledge and skills for human resources in the field of rehabilitation

Doctors from Quang Tri, Thua Thien - Hue, Quang Nam and Kon Tum provinces have just completed a 6-month training course on basic rehabilitation and were awarded a Certificate of Technical Training in Medical Examination and Treatment.

The training course is part of the project "Support to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities in provinces heavily sprayed with Agent Orange" (Integration Project) organized by the Medical Committee of the Netherlands - Vietnam (MCNV) in collaboration with the Bach Mai Institute of Medical Training and Research and the Bach Mai Hospital Rehabilitation Center with funding from the United States Agency for International Development ( USAID ).

The course content includes 43 lessons from general to detailed on basic PHCN of common diseases, of which practice hours account for 80%.

According to Dr. Hoang Nhat Quang Thai, from Thua Thien Hue Provincial Rehabilitation Hospital, at the course, students were taught a lot of new knowledge about rehabilitation by teachers, exposed to many treatment methods, care methods, and patient management methods... That is the foundation to support doctors in their work, helping patients and creating a foundation for further in-depth study later.

This is the second time MCNV has coordinated with Bach Mai Hospital to organize a 6-month training course on basic rehabilitation for doctors. According to Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Van Giap, Deputy Director of Bach Mai Hospital, the cooperation between MCNV and Bach Mai Hospital has brought many practical effects to the work of training, support, and transfer of professional techniques, contributing to creating conditions for patients and people with disabilities in remote areas to access quality medical services right in their localities, reducing costs and travel time.
