Costa Rica wishes to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam

According to VNA correspondent in the Americas, on December 6, Costa Rican President Rodrigo Chaves Robles affirmed his goodwill to strengthen multifaceted cooperation between Costa Rica and Vietnam, especially in the fields of economics , trade, education and environment.

During the reception of the credentials presented by the Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba and concurrently to Costa Rica, Le Quang Long, at the Costa Rican Presidential Palace, Mr. Rodrigo Chaves expressed his special affection for Vietnam and congratulated the great socio-economic achievements that Vietnam has achieved in recent times. Mr. Rodrigo Chaves visited Vietnam many times when he was still holding a position at the World Bank (WB). President Robles also expressed his deep admiration for the resilient fighting spirit, self-reliance and proud achievements that Vietnam has achieved in the cause of national construction and development. On this occasion, the Costa Rican leader thanked Vietnam for supporting Costa Rica's interest in the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans -Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
For his part, Ambassador Le Quang Long expressed his honor to take on this important role, and conveyed the regards of President Luong Cuong and the invitation to President Rodrigo Chaves to officially visit Vietnam at a time convenient for both sides. Ambassador Le Quang Long highly appreciated the visit to Vietnam by Minister of Foreign Trade Manuel Tovar in August 2024 and thanked Costa Rica for recognizing Vietnam as a market economy. Ambassador Le Quang Long said that Vietnam and Costa Rica have great potential for cooperation in areas such as agriculture , tourism, consumer goods production, software industry, and at the same time asked Costa Rican authorities to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese investors.
