Congress of ethnic minorities in Nam Po district in 2024

Comrade Lo Van Mung, Standing Committee Member, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee presented flowers to congratulate the Congress.

With 8 ethnic groups living together, Nam Po district has more than 96% of the population being ethnic minorities. Ethnic minorities in Nam Po district are always united, overcoming difficulties, actively working in production, developing the socio-economy, and building new rural areas. Local Party committees and authorities focus on implementing ethnic programs and policies; considering this an important resource contributing to building great solidarity, consolidating infrastructure, improving life, and increasing income for people. Over the past 5 years, the poverty rate in the district has decreased to 44.65%; 1 commune has met the new rural standards and 3 communes have been recognized as basically meeting the new rural standards; the quality of life of ethnic minorities has been improved in all aspects. The cultural values of ethnic minorities have been preserved and promoted; political security, social order and safety in ethnic minority areas are stable; The great national unity bloc is consolidated and strengthened...

With the theme: "Ethnic groups in Nam Po district unite, promote potential advantages, join hands to build new rural areas, and sustainably reduce poverty", the Congress focused on discussing and proposing directions, tasks, and solutions to implement ethnic work and ethnic policies in the period of 2024 - 2029.

Leaders of the District People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to individuals with outstanding achievements in ethnic work, period 2019 - 2024.

Speaking at the Congress, Comrade Lo Van Mung, Standing Committee member, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee acknowledged and commended the results that Nam Po district has achieved in implementing ethnic policies. Comrade Lo Van Mung requested the district to continue to propagate and effectively implement the Party and State's policies and guidelines on ethnic and religious affairs. Focus resources on investment in development and construction of socio -economic infrastructure in ethnic minority areas. Effectively implement national target programs to promote economic development, ensure social security, and reduce poverty quickly and sustainably.

Promoting the spirit of solidarity and democracy, the Congress elected a delegation of 26 delegates to attend the 4th Provincial Congress of Ethnic Minorities for the 2024-2029 term. On this occasion, the People's Committee of Nam Po district awarded certificates of merit to 5 collectives and 36 individuals with outstanding achievements in ethnic work in the 2019-2024 period.
