On behalf of the city's leaders and people, the Secretary of the Hai Phong City Party Committee thanked the US Government for its support and companionship with the city over the years in many areas such as economy , education, environment; US businesses and experts also actively participated in finding development directions for Hai Phong city such as duty-free zones, free trade zones, green transformation; not only providing technical support and experience but also material support.
The Secretary of the City Party Committee gave an overview of Hai Phong's socio-economic development in recent times and emphasized that the city is currently one of the localities with high economic growth rates, an attractive destination for many foreign investors, including US businesses.
Hai Phong's GRDP has grown at double digits for 10 consecutive years. Its competitiveness, administrative reform, and people's satisfaction indexes are among the top in the country.
After merging with Hai Duong , the new Hai Phong city has a lot of potential, room for development and strengths focusing on high-tech industries, seaports, logistics, trade, services, tourism... In particular, the National Assembly issued Resolution No. 226/2025/QH15 on piloting a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Hai Phong city.

The Secretary of the Hai Phong Party Committee affirmed that the city's leaders always pay attention to and create favorable conditions for foreign investors, including US enterprises, to operate stably, effectively and long-term in Hai Phong. At the same time, he expressed his hope that the US Ambassador would continue to pay attention and be a bridge to introduce large US enterprises and corporations to research and invest in the fields that Hai Phong is prioritizing to attract; the city is committed to accompanying enterprises to resolve difficulties and problems.
Ambassador Marc Knapper thanked the leaders of Hai Phong city for their warm welcome and expressed his impression of the city's strong and dynamic development in recent years. The Ambassador congratulated the city on successfully organizing the 3rd Meeting of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC III) in 2025 and the 2025 Trade and Investment Promotion Conference.
The United States values the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Vietnam and appreciates the role and position of Hai Phong in the development strategy of the northern region and the whole country, Ambassador Marc Knapper emphasized.
The Ambassador said that many US businesses are interested in exploring investment opportunities in Hai Phong and wish to cooperate in the field of education, especially teaching English to students.
The Ambassador believes that with a favorable investment environment and the attention of the city's leaders, economic, trade and people-to-people cooperation between Hai Phong and US partners will increasingly develop strongly, substantially and effectively.
