With a thorough understanding of the culture and history of each region and each relic where they work, tour guides are considered “ambassadors” of cultural and tourism communication, helping visitors understand and appreciate more the stories and people who have gone down in history…

I still remember, the first time we set foot in Hung King Temple in Can Tho City, we were vaguely wondering how to visit the places appropriately, but were welcomed by the tour guides with warm smiles. With traditional Ao Dai costumes, the ladies quickly led the group to visit each construction item, helping guests understand the origin of each artifact and each display space. Grasping the psychology and length of stay of each group of guests, the ladies, depending on the circumstances, both ensured the right plan, but still covered, highlighted the history and significance of the tourist destination, culture of the Mekong Delta.

In fact, a destination becomes much more valuable and meaningful to visitors when accompanied by a tour guide. During our visit to the Memorial Site of the late Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet in Vinh Long province, our group was captivated by the inspiring presentation skills of Ms. Dang Thi Phuong Thao (Head of the Memorial Site Management Board). As if deeply engraved in our minds every detail about the life and career of Uncle Sau Dan (commonly known as the late Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet), Ms. Thao recounted everything with her heart. Ms. Thao also helped visitors better understand the courage, stature, and bold decisions of Uncle Sau Dan during the renovation period, with many historical works bearing his mark such as the 500 KV North-South power transmission line, T5 flood drainage canal, Tri An hydropower plant...

Having the opportunity to visit the land of pink lotus in Dong Thap, the knowledge of the tour guide at the relic site of Mr. Pho Bang Nguyen Sinh Sac helped us understand more about the father of the great President Ho Chi Minh. Through that, the patriotic life of Mr. Nguyen Sinh Sac, a noble and simple personality, was vividly recreated. When visitors asked questions about the influence of Mr. Pho Bang Nguyen Sinh Sac on the formation of Ho Chi Minh's personality and revolutionary aspirations; the meaning of the displayed artifacts... all were answered thoroughly and easily by the tour guide...

Keeping up with the 4.0 trend, tour guides are not only knowledgeable, they also apply technology to help visitors better understand the stops. It is not difficult to see that, nowadays, at every destination, every exhibit, every relic site has a QR code for visitors to learn more about culture and history. With the support of technology, tour guides have taken a customer-centric approach, connecting stories in many ways, from explanations to vivid, clear images, sounds, and videos. When necessary, tour guides also double as "photographers". They subtly detect when visitors want to take pictures, and proactively help visitors choose each shooting angle so that both sides can preserve beautiful moments.
