On June 18, Mr. Vu Le Thai Hoang, Vietnamese Ambassador to Austria, had a working session with Mr. Daniel Froschauer, President of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra (Wiener Philharmoniker).

Expressing his admiration for the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, one of the most prestigious orchestras in the world, Ambassador Vu Le Thai Hoang thanked Mr. Froschauer and the Orchestra for their increasing interest in promoting cooperation and organizing tours in the Asian region, contributing to bringing symphonic music closer to the public, enriching the connection and cultural exchange between the people of the two countries.

The Ambassador updated the socio -economic development situation, cultural and spiritual life in Vietnam, introduced famous symphony orchestras of Vietnam such as the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra, the Sun Symphony Orchestra and some major performing arts centers of Vietnam that meet world standards such as the Hoan Kiem Theater, Hanoi Opera House, National Convention Center... and expressed the wish that the Vienna Symphony Orchestra will soon tour Vietnam.

Warmly welcoming Ambassador Vu Le Thai Hoang to visit the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and Opera House, Mr. Froschauer emphasized the noble mission of music as a bridge of peace and friendship. Austria is proud to be one of the great cradles of classical music, the homeland of the musical genius Mozart and this year is celebrating the 200th anniversary of the birth of another genius composer, Johann Strauss II with the immortal Blue Danube.

Mr. Froschauer said that the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra has had many tours in Asian countries such as Japan, Korea and China, and expressed that performing in Vietnam is also the wish of him and many artists in the Orchestra.

Agreeing with Ambassador Vu Le Thai Hoang's proposal, Mr. Froschauer suggested that the two sides continue to exchange closely so that they can soon plan to prepare to bring the Orchestra to tour Vietnam.

The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra (Wiener Philharmoniker) first performed in 1842 in the capital Vienna and began to make great strides from 1860. Famous conductors such as Hans Richter, Gustav Mahler, Karl Böhm, Herbert von Karajan... contributed to making the Orchestra one of the most famous orchestras in the world.

The Austrian people regard the orchestra as the musical ambassador of Austria. One of the orchestra's most famous performances is the New Year's Concert in the Golden Hall of the Vienna Philharmonic on the morning of January 1st every year, which is broadcast live to 92 countries.
