On the evening of July 29, Coach Kim Sang Sik announced the starting lineup of the Vietnam U23 team for the match against host U23 Indonesia in the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship taking place at 8:00 p.m. today.
Compared to the semi-final match against U23 Philippines, coach Kim Sang Sik did not make any changes to the starting lineup. While in the previous three matches, the Korean coach had two substitutions per match.
However, this is also understandable. Because the starting lineup of the U23 Vietnam team in the match against U23 Philippines played much better than in the two group stage matches.
Despite being behind, U23 Vietnam still came back to beat U23 Philippines 2-1 thanks to two goals by Dinh Bac and Xuan Bac.
Specific starting lineup of U23 Vietnam for the final match with U23 Indonesia:
Goalkeeper Trung Kien. Three central defenders Ly Duc, Hieu Minh, Nhat Minh. Two wingers Phi Hoang, Anh Quan. Central midfielder duo Xuan Bac, Van Truong. Three forwards Khuat Van Khang, Dinh Bac and Cong Phuong.
Although coach Kim Sang Sik brought Russian-Vietnamese player Viktor Le to the press conference before the final, he only sat on the bench with Quoc Viet. However, both of them promised to be the "finishing" option for U23 Indonesia when they were put on the field.
