The Vietnamese women's team will have to compete for second place in the group with the remaining two opponents, India and Chinese Taipei. These opponents are all strong and will be difficult challenges. We need to be well prepared and highly determined in the upcoming Asian Cup finals."
Huynh Nhu is excited about the upcoming opponents of the Vietnamese women's team at the Asian Cup finals taking place in March 2026: "The opponents in the group are quite familiar with the Vietnamese women's team. I think this is a group where we are completely capable of winning a ticket to the quarterfinals."
In Group A, the Philippines competes for a ticket to the quarterfinals with Iran, South Korea, and Australia. Group B has the presence of North Korea, China, Uzbekistan, and Bangladesh.
The tournament will take place from March 1 to March 21, 2026 in three cities in Australia - Sydney, Perth and Gold Coast - which have previously hosted matches of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup. The top two teams in each group and the two best third-placed teams will advance to the quarter-finals.
This is a very important tournament when determining tickets to the World Cup. In which, the 6 teams with the best results in the tournament will have tickets to the world -level tournament in 2027.
The four semi-finalists will automatically qualify for the 2027 World Cup. The losing teams in the quarter-finals will be paired up to select the remaining two spots to represent Asia.
