Regarding the operation time, Tan Son Nhat Airport will conduct a trial operation at the T3 domestic passenger terminal before its inauguration on April 30, 2025, as directed by the Prime Minister. After that, it will officially operate after the peak period of April 30.

Regarding the exploitation plan, Tan Son Nhat Airport has developed a tentative plan to exploit the T3 domestic passenger terminal with the immediate plan to exploit domestic flights of the two airlines Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air.

Domestic flights of the remaining four airlines, Vasco, Bamboo Airways, Vietravel Airlines, and Pacific Airlines, continue to operate at Domestic Passenger Terminal T1.

The project to build passenger terminal T3, Tan Son Nhat International Airport includes 4 main items: passenger terminal, multi-storey car park combined with non-aviation services, overpass system in front of the terminal and aircraft parking. The project has a total investment of 10,990 billion VND.

The project is built with equity capital of Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) and commercial loans.

Once completed, the terminal will serve domestic flights with a capacity of 20 million passengers/year, meeting 7,000 passengers/peak hour. This will solve the overload and congestion at Terminal T1.
