Happy families: a solid foundation for a prosperous nation

This year’s Vietnamese Family Day (June 28) continues to be celebrated with the theme “Happy Family, Prosperous Nation”. This theme is not only a message about the traditional and sacred meaning of the family, but also reflects a profound message about the role of the family in contributing to the stability and sustainable development of the country.

The family is the cell of society. Each harmonious, loving, and responsible family is the foundation for building a civilized, stable, and developing community. When the family foundation is solid, children are raised in a healthy environment, and adults have a spiritual support to work, study, and contribute with peace of mind. A society with many happy families will be a society with less social evils, less violence, and less instability - factors that hinder national development.

At present, the country is restructuring the administrative apparatus towards streamlining and efficiency, while implementing a two-level local government model: province and commune. Changes in organizational structure, personnel, and management methods will have a significant impact on the lives of each person and each household. Shifting workplaces, changing job roles, adjusting regimes and policies, etc., are factors that can easily disrupt psychology and family life. In that context, a strong family that knows how to love, share, and overcome challenges together will be an important support for each member to adapt, develop, and continue to contribute to society.

Building a happy family in the present era is not only about preserving traditional values such as family affection and filial piety, but also needs to be expanded to modern values such as gender equality, life skills education , mental health care, civilized behavior in the digital environment, etc. The comprehensive development of each family will be the key factor in creating high-quality human resources - one of the important levers for the country to make a breakthrough in the integration and digital transformation period.

Vietnamese Family Day is an opportunity for each person to look back at their role in the common home, an opportunity for the community to spread the message of love, responsibility and companionship. Above all, this is the time for us to affirm: a country that wants to prosper must start with happy, peaceful families filled with human values.
