Specifically, last week the city recorded 227 cases of dengue fever, an increase of 37 cases compared to the previous week. Patients were distributed in 27 districts, towns and cities. Some units recorded many patients such as: Dan Phuong, Ha Dong, Hai Ba Trung, Thach That, Thanh Oai, Nam Tu Liem, Hoang Mai, Phuc Tho.
Accumulated in 2024, the city recorded 2,966 cases, down 71.4% compared to the same period in 2023 (10,372/3).
During the week, 9 dengue fever outbreaks were recorded in the following units: Ba Dinh, Dan Phuong, Cau Giay, Hai Ba Trung, Ha Dong, Thanh Oai, Thach That. Accumulated from the beginning of the year until now, the whole city has recorded 142 outbreaks, with 18 outbreaks currently active.
According to the Hanoi CDC, dengue fever has now entered its peak season every year (September to November), with complex and unpredictable weather conditions combined with heavy rain creating favorable conditions for the reproduction and development of disease-carrying mosquitoes.
At the same time, monitoring results at some outbreaks still recorded insect indexes exceeding the risk threshold, predicting that the number of dengue fever cases will continue to increase in the coming time.
Hanoi CDC recommends that district, town and city health centers strengthen disease prevention measures and ensure environmental hygiene in high-risk areas and areas affected by flooding. At the same time, coordinate with departments, branches and organizations to support and guide people to practice personal hygiene, environmental hygiene and house hygiene immediately after the water recedes, ensuring that the environment is cleaned as the water recedes; organize spraying of chemicals to kill disease-carrying insects in high-risk areas after cleaning the environment.
In addition, units organize monitoring, early detection, thorough and timely handling of disease cases and outbreaks during and after floods.
