After losing to U23 Vietnam, coach Emilio Peixe of U23 Kuwait admitted: " We need to develop the players both physically and mentally. We know our position at the moment. U23 Kuwait faces U23 Vietnam, a team that reached the final of this tournament ."
The Portuguese coach said his team did not play well in the second half. Mr. Peixe explained: "I felt that the players were a bit tired. This can happen when the players do not have much experience in this type of tournament."

At the beginning of the second half, coach Hoang Anh Tuan sent 3 players onto the field: Bui Vi Hao, Nguyen Minh Quang and Nguyen Manh Hung. Of which, Vi Hao scored a double, Minh Quang made his mark with a situation threatening the U23 Kuwait goal. Manh Hung played solidly in defense.

" I told my players that the opponent was not strong and the team's form was not good. We just needed to perform like we did in training. In the second half, we played much better and scored many goals, " added coach Hoang Anh Tuan.
This victory helps coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his players take a step forward in their efforts to advance past the group stage. If they beat U23 Malaysia in the next match, U23 Vietnam will likely advance.
