Workshop on developing technology for producing high quality rice varieties

On the morning of June 18, the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations in coordination with the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations and the Vietnam Plant Seed Association organized a workshop on developing technology for producing high-quality rice varieties in Thai Binh province.

In recent years, Thai Binh has achieved remarkable achievements in the selection and production of rice varieties. Many high-quality rice varieties have been recognized and put into production such as: TBR39, Dong A1, TBR279, Nep A Sao, TBR89... Every year, the province produces about 5,000 hectares of rice seeds with an output of about 32,500 tons. The whole province currently has 8 enterprises operating in the field of plant seed production, the most prominent of which is ThaiBinh Seed Group Joint Stock Company, which currently owns 28 plant varieties that have been recognized as national varieties.

At the workshop, delegates discussed and exchanged a number of contents on the role of the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations in developing high-quality rice seed production in the province; experience in developing high-quality rice seed production technology in a number of enterprises and localities and solutions to develop high-quality rice seed production technology in Thai Binh.

The workshop aims to promote the application of technology in the production of high-quality rice varieties, thereby improving the productivity, quality and reputation of Thai Binh rice brand, contributing to the development of modern and sustainable agriculture .
