According to TechCrunch , the Apple Vision Pro mixed reality glasses are attracting a lot of attention - especially from developers. Recently, Apple's senior vice president of worldwide marketing Greg Joswiak announced on the social network X that Vision Pro now has more than 1,000 designed apps. This number is up from the more than 600 apps expected to be available at launch, which Apple announced two weeks ago.
Most reviews have called the Apple Vision Pro the best mixed reality headset on the market, despite still being in development. But its hefty $3,500 price tag may limit the market for developers. But App Store data shows that more than half of developers have adopted a paid app business model, rather than a freemium, freemium with in-app purchases, or subscription model like the App Store. That means even if only a few hundred customers download the app, they’ll still make money.
There are already over 1,000 apps designed specifically for Apple Vision Pro.

While Vision Pro is capable of running over 1.5 million compatible iOS and iPad apps, apps built specifically for the device are designed to take advantage of its unique capabilities. Such as streaming apps like Disney+, ESPN, MLB, PGA Tour, Max, Discovery+, Amazon Prime Video , Paramount+, Peacock, Pluto TV, Tubi, Fubo, Crunchyroll, Red Bull TV, IMAX, TikTok, and MUBI.
Additionally, many independent software developers have also embraced the new platform, such as the YouTube alternative app Juno that was built on its own, or entered areas where there are not many competitors such as fitness, science ...
While there may be a few major companies that have rejected the Vision Pro, there are still many in Apple's developer community interested in building the foundation for the new device.
