More than 700 athletes compete in the 2025 National Vovinam Youth Championship

VHO - On the morning of June 18 in Phan Thiet City (Binh Thuan Province), the 22nd National Youth Vovinam Championship 2025 officially opened with more than 700 athletes competing.

This year's tournament took place from June 18 to 24 with the participation of more than 700 athletes from 33 units, provinces, cities and sectors across the country such as: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Thanh Hoa, Army, Public Security, ... and host Binh Thuan .

Athletes compete in 78 sets of medals including 32 events in single, double, multiple, team, and kick attacks and 46 weight categories in 3 age groups: 12-15 years old, 16-18 years old and 19-21 years old.

According to the regulations issued by the organizing committee, each unit is only allowed to register to participate in no more than 50% of the martial arts content and no more than 50% of the combat weight categories in each age group. Each athlete is allowed to participate in no more than 3 contents.

The tournament aims to celebrate the 87th anniversary of the founding of Vovinam - Viet Vo Dao.

This tournament is not only an opportunity for young martial artists to demonstrate their talent and training efforts, but also contributes to spreading the martial spirit, discipline and identity of Vietnamese martial arts.

The award is an opportunity for professionals to search and discover new talents.

Among Vietnamese martial arts, Vovinam has developed on the largest scale with more than 2 million students in more than 70 countries and territories around the world and has become a sport that receives enthusiastic participation from a large number of people.

This martial art is also included in the curriculum in schools, contributing to the further spread and development of the nation's martial art.

Notably, this is considered the last national tournament with some provincial and municipal units before the merger.

Therefore, the matches become fierce as athletes and delegations want to leave their mark in their unit's colors.
