Merging 4 maritime ports from August 1

(Chinhphu.vn) - Ho Chi Minh City Maritime Port Authority and Vung Tau Maritime Port Authority will be merged into Ho Chi Minh City Maritime Port Authority. At the same time, Da Nang Maritime Port Authority and Quang Nam Maritime Port Authority will be merged into Da Nang Maritime Port Authority.

This merger is a concrete step in the process of restructuring the maritime industry, aiming to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state management, while optimizing resources and organizing the operating apparatus.

The Ministry of Construction has just issued a decision to merge a number of maritime port authorities, aiming to streamline the organization and improve the management and operation efficiency of the maritime industry.

Specifically, the Ho Chi Minh City Maritime Port Authority and the Vung Tau Maritime Port Authority will be merged into the Ho Chi Minh City Maritime Port Authority. At the same time, the Da Nang Maritime Port Authority and the Quang Nam Maritime Port Authority will be merged into the Da Nang Maritime Port Authority.

Officially operating under the new model from August 1st

The new units after the merger will be under the Vietnam Maritime and Waterways Administration and will officially operate under the new model from August 1.

According to the decision, the Director of the Vietnam Maritime and Waterways Administration is responsible for organizing the full implementation of legal procedures related to the merger of the above port authorities.

Ho Chi Minh City Maritime Port Authority will receive and perform all tasks, powers, management scope, legal responsibilities as well as related issues of both Ho Chi Minh City and Vung Tau port authorities after the merger.

Similarly, the Da Nang Maritime Port Authority will receive and fully implement the functions, tasks and powers of the Da Nang Port Authority and the Quang Nam Port Authority.

In addition, the Vietnam Maritime Administration is also assigned the responsibility of resolving issues arising during the process of restructuring the apparatus, ensuring that the operations of the merged units are smooth and in accordance with the law. This merger is a specific step in the process of restructuring the maritime industry, aiming to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state management, while optimizing resources and organizing the operating apparatus.
