Báo Giao thôngBáo Giao thông21/05/2024

According to the Phu Yen Department of Transport, the Chi Thanh railway tunnel on the North-South railway at Km 1168+722 through Chi Thanh town has suffered a landslide from the top of the tunnel arch and is continuing to collapse.

The railway tunnel intersects with DT641 at Km 1+400, affecting the safety of railway and road works and traffic safety in the area.

Currently, the railway management unit is implementing a plan to fix the subsidence problem in the tunnel. While waiting for the problem to be fixed, at the request of Project Management Board 85 and related units, the Department of Transport announces a plan to organize traffic flow through the Thi Pass area from Km 0+900 - Km 1+500 of DT641 route.

Accordingly, all types of vehicles are not allowed to circulate through Thi Pass area from Km 0+900 - Km 1+500 of DT641 route, except for two-wheeled vehicles.

Passenger vans with 16 seats or less and trucks with 7 tons or less, if they want to go from Chi Thanh town to Dong Xuan district and vice versa, will have to travel along National Highway 1, DH38 and DT641.

For other vehicles, if they want to go from National Highway 1 to DT641 and vice versa, they will have to travel along routes DT643, DT650 or DT642.

Traffic diversion starts from 5:00 p.m. on May 21 until the problem is resolved, ensuring safe conditions for traffic through Thi Pass area from Km 0+900 - Km 1+500 of DT641 route.

The Department of Transport of Phu Yen province requested the Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police, the Traffic Inspectorate and Tuy An District Police to arrange forces and vehicles to organize traffic regulation and traffic flow on the roads.

Previously, at around 10:30 a.m. on May 21, a landslide occurred in Chi Thanh tunnel at Km 1168+722 (railway route). Because the landslide is located right under provincial road 641, to ensure absolute safety for the construction work to fix the landslide in the tunnel and the road above, Project Management Board 85 requested the Department of Transport of Phu Yen province to support and prohibit cars and motor vehicles from traveling on provincial road 641 at the Chi Thanh tunnel location until the railway tunnel collapse is fixed.

Phu Yen provincial authorities are also actively coordinating with relevant units to urgently resolve this incident.
