Kien Giang earns over 29,000 billion VND from tourism

(KGO) - In the first 6 months of 2025, Kien Giang's revenue from tourism activities was 29,007 billion VND, an increase of 116.5% over the same period, exceeding the 2025 plan by 1.8%.

On June 16, the Department of Tourism of Kien Giang province said that in the first 6 months of 2025, the province's tourism activities had quite a development. The province promoted linkage and cooperation activities to develop tourism with provinces and cities across the country; the coordination, promotion, and introduction of images and local tourist destinations were carried out effectively, attracting domestic and foreign tourists to visit and experience.

Tourism businesses in the province focus on investing in developing many new tourism products and services, contributing to creating an impression on tourists...

Thanks to that, the total number of visitors to Kien Giang in the first 6 months of the year reached over 7.1 million, an increase of 30.6% over the same period, reaching 64.4% of the 2025 plan; of which, international visitors were nearly 892,000, an increase of 75.4% over the same period, reaching 74.3% of the 2025 plan. Total revenue from tourism activities reached over VND 29,000 billion, an increase of 116.5% over the same period, exceeding 1.8% of the 2025 plan.

Phu Quoc City continues to be Kien Giang's leading destination, welcoming over 4.4 million tourists, up 33.3% over the same period, reaching 61.1% of the 2025 plan; of which, international visitors were nearly 882,000 (up 76.7% over the same period, reaching 75% of the 2025 plan. Total revenue reached over 21.5 trillion VND, up 92.6% over the same period, reaching 91.9% of the 2025 plan.
