Welcoming ceremony for General Secretary and President To Lam on State visit to Mongolia

At around 2:00 p.m. on September 30, local time, the State-level welcoming ceremony for General Secretary and President To Lam and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation on a State visit to Mongolia (from September 30 to October 1) took place solemnly at Sukhbaatar Square, capital Ulan Bator. Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh presided over the welcoming ceremony.

At the welcoming ceremony, the motorcade carried General Secretary , President To Lam Entering the Square, they were warmly welcomed by many officials and staff of the two countries. President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh welcomed the General Secretary and President; Mongolian children presented flowers to the General Secretary and President; the two leaders took photos with Mongolian children. After taking photos, the two Heads of State took their positions of honor; the Vietnamese and Mongolian national anthems were played. The Honorary Guard Captain saluted the General Secretary and President and invited the two Heads of State to inspect the Guard of Honor.

At the end of the parade, General Secretary and President To Lam and President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh introduced and warmly greeted officials from both countries present at the welcoming ceremony. The welcoming ceremony was also attended by Ambassadors and Heads of Foreign Representative Agencies in Mongolia.

Immediately after the welcoming ceremony, General Secretary and President To Lam signed the "Guest of Honor" book at the Mongolian State Palace with the content of the guestbook affirming: "Vietnam and Mongolia have gone through a 70-year journey with important achievements in development cooperation. Today, the President of Mongolia and the General Secretary and President of Vietnam jointly announced the elevation of the two countries' relationship to a Comprehensive Partnership. Vietnam-Mongolia, this will open a new period of development cooperation that is more substantial, effective, comprehensive and long-term for the prosperous and happy life of the people of the two countries. Wishing Mongolia prosperity, Mongolian people happiness. Wishing the friendship between the two countries and peoples to last forever".

After signing the Guest of Honor book, the General Secretary and President met privately and together with President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh led high-ranking delegations of the two countries to hold talks; witnessed the signing ceremony of documents...

The State visit to Mongolia by the General Secretary and President is of special significance as it takes place on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the relationship is at its best stage of development. General Secretary and President To Lam will discuss with senior Mongolian leaders major orientations and important measures to further strengthen political trust as well as enhance cooperation in many priority areas of both sides, especially political cooperation, diplomacy, economy, trade, tourism and people-to-people exchange.
