CBSNews reported that Angele Bejar, the mother of Spanish Football Federation President Luis Rubiales, will go on a hunger strike at a church in the town of Motril, Granada, Spain. Bejar began her protest just hours before the High Court announced it would open an investigation into whether Luis Rubiales "sexually assaulted" soccer player Jenni Hermoso.

" I will not eat until the 'inhumane persecution' of my son stops. He is not capable of hurting anyone. Why are they so cruel to him? " said Mrs. Bejra.

Spanish prosecutors have confirmed that they will investigate Luis Rubiales's alleged kiss on the lips of Hermoso. The Spanish football leader has insisted that he kissed Hermoso with the player's consent. She, on the other hand, has claimed that Luis Rubiales forced her to kiss him. This could therefore constitute "sexual assault".

All of Spain's World Cup players have said they will not return to the national team if Rubiales remains in charge. A total of 81 Spanish women's players - through the country's professional players' association - have boycotted the national team, refusing to accept the call-up.

On September 22 and 26, the Spanish team will play Nations League matches against Sweden and Switzerland. In 15 days, coach Jorge Vilda will have to build a completely new team from the coaching staff to the players if the scandal is not resolved satisfactorily.

Currently, FIFA announced the temporary suspension of Mr. Rubiales' work for 90 days. Mr. Pedro Rocha - Vice President of RFEF temporarily leads the Federation.
