From 2019 to present, the MoMo philanthropist community (MoMo Piggy Bank community) has supported the cost to help 1,233 children with facial deformities find a complete smile, towards a better future.
72 children with facial deformities will have surgery to regain their full smiles.
On August 28, 91 children were screened at the Central Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology in Ho Chi Minh City. After determining the type of deformity and the children's ability to respond to surgery, the doctors continued to perform surgery on 72 children. Children with more complex conditions and more post-operative complications will be scheduled for examination and surgery after the program, ensuring that every child will have the opportunity to regain a full smile.
According to the plan for the last 4 months of 2023, on average each month, the MoMo philanthropist community will donate 20 smiles in cash on MoMo Heart and by raising Golden Pigs for donors to convert into cash equivalent to 80 smiles for Operation Smile Vietnam's charitable surgery programs.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Phuong - Chief Representative of Operation Smile in Vietnam - said: "MoMo officially became one of Operation Smile's important long-term partners since 2019 through using services as a channel to call for and mobilize for community service activities in Vietnam".
Mr. Nguyen Hoanh Tien - Senior Deputy General Director, Head of Marketing and Distribution Solutions Business Unit at MoMo - shared: "Once again, we see the connection between technology and the community. Through MoMo's technology platform, many philanthropists have participated and in this program alone, more than 100,000 philanthropists have contributed. Each contribution, although very small, combined with all those donations, creates a miracle, helping many children regain their full smiles."
