Heavy rain and thunderstorms affected 53 households in Dong Yen commune.

On the afternoon of July 19, heavy rain and strong thunderstorms occurred in Dong Yen commune, affecting crops, welfare facilities and houses of 53 households. The estimated damage was nearly 1.5 billion VND.

Heavy rain and thunderstorms completely destroyed the house of Mr. Trang Van Hue's family, Dong Huong village, Dong Yen commune.

Of these, 3 houses were completely collapsed, 2 houses were tilted and could not be repaired, 48 houses were damaged; nearly 10 hectares of fruit trees, long-term industrial trees and 3 hectares of forestry trees were affected and damaged; 1 5-room level IV cultural house and 1 kiosk at the commune's central market had their roofs blown off; 4 A-shaped electric poles were broken; 1 cultural village gate sign was damaged; fallen trees caused traffic jams on many inter-village roads in the area.

Dong Yen Commune People's Committee has directed specialized departments to review and count the damage. At the same time, mobilize local forces and local people to support the evacuation of people and property from completely collapsed households to safe places in the village; and immediately repair households with minor damage so that people can stabilize their lives.

Authorities and local residents supported the family of Ms. Hoang Thi Thieu, Dong Huong village, to clean up and move their belongings to a new residence.

At the same time, propagate people to proactively grasp weather information on mass media, apply preventive measures, and minimize damage caused by natural disasters.
