This is the first time attacks have been carried out on the Houthis since the militant group targeted international shipping lanes in the Red Sea late last year.

The Houthis, who control large parts of Yemen, have targeted shipping lanes in the Red Sea to show their support for Hamas. The attacks have disrupted international trade on the vital route between Europe and Asia, which carries about 15% of the world's shipping traffic.
The officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said an official statement detailing the strikes would be released soon, which are believed to be the first US attack on Houthi forces in Yemen since 2016.
Earlier on Thursday, the Houthi leader said any US attack on the group would trigger a strong response from the group.
The US military said on Thursday that Houthi forces fired an anti-ship ballistic missile at international shipping lanes in the Gulf of Aden, the group's 27th attack since November 19.
