On June 7, the Russian Embassy in the United States said that information about the US knowing about Ukraine's plan to attack the Nord Stream natural gas pipeline was part of a coordinated Western plot.

Russia 'accuses' the West of trying to confuse the culprit of the Nord Stream pipeline explosion.

In a statement posted on Telegram , Russian diplomat Andrey Ledenev asserted: "The coordinated Western campaign, led by the United States, is aimed at confusing the international community...

The reasons for weaving different hypotheses and versions, backed by 'secret' data from the local intelligence community, are simply trivial.

The Washington Post reported a day earlier that, citing leaked information online, the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) knew about the incident in advance last June, through a European intelligence agency.

Specifically, the CIA said that a group of six people from the Ukrainian special forces intended to blow up the natural gas pipeline connecting Russia and Germany.

Russia has repeatedly claimed that the West was behind the explosion that affected the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines in September 2023. These are multi-billion dollar infrastructure projects transporting gas from Russia to Germany.

The explosions occurred in the exclusive economic zones of Sweden and Denmark in the Baltic Sea. Both countries said the explosions were intentional, but it is not yet clear who was responsible.
