The event includes the following activities: Announcing Decision No. 1142/QD-TTg dated June 13, 2025 of the Prime Minister on the establishment of Da Nang Free Trade Zone; introducing locations for Da Nang Free Trade Zone and information on priority areas for attracting investment and preferential policies for investors; plans and roadmap for implementing investment in Da Nang Free Trade Zone.
Signing of Memorandum of Understanding between the city and interested investors; Memorandum of Understanding between Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development ( BIDV ) and Customs Branch of Region XII on supporting the development of smart customs monitoring application solutions.
About 600 delegates are expected to attend the announcement ceremony, including leaders of the National Assembly, Government leaders; leaders of several central ministries and branches; leaders of centrally-run cities and several neighboring localities; leaders and former leaders of Da Nang city; representatives of businesses, etc.
The event also has sideline activities: Field survey of locations for the formation of Da Nang Free Trade Zone and Lien Chieu port (right after the announcement ceremony); exhibition displaying planning, information, and images related to Da Nang Free Trade Zone (about 3-5 days during and after the announcement ceremony).
Previously, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh signed Decision No. 1142/QD-TTg dated June 13, 2025 on the establishment of the Da Nang City Free Trade Zone with a scale of about 1,881 hectares, located in 7 non-contiguous locations; including functional areas: production, logistics; trade - services; digital technology industry, information technology and innovation and other types of functional areas according to the provisions of law.
Regarding development goals, Da Nang Free Trade Zone is planned and developed on the basis of modern infrastructure, synchronizing the fields of production, trade, logistics, technology and high-quality services, aiming to become a regional economic center, playing the role of a strategic growth pole of the Central region and the whole country in the new development context.

The long-term goal is to build the Da Nang Free Trade Zone into an important link in the global supply chain network and the Asia-Pacific region; a production center, an international freight transit hub connected to Lien Chieu port, Da Nang international airport and the East-West economic corridor; contributing to promoting the development of high-tech industry, innovation and digital transformation, actively contributing to the economic restructuring process of the new Da Nang city after merging with Quang Nam province towards sustainability and deep integration.
Developing the Da Nang Free Trade Zone in conjunction with the international financial center in Da Nang city, forming a modern, smart, highly competitive economic ecosystem, creating great spillover effects, contributing to enhancing Vietnam's position in the region and internationally in the context of globalization.
