Her husband had a work accident that left him paralyzed for many years, her father-in-law has lung cancer, her mother-in-law is sick all year round, and her three children are still in school... Dao Thi Oanh's family is in a very difficult situation. She herself is a worker and her salary is not enough to support the whole family.

That is the situation of the family of Ms. Dao Thi Oanh (born in 1985) in Phu Xuan hamlet, Trung Phuc Cuong commune, Nam Dan district ( Nghe An ). 6 years ago. Her family's life was a bit poor but still enough to live.

Then one day, her husband, Mr. Tran Van Binh, who was selling areca nuts, unfortunately fell while climbing to pick areca nuts. After the accident, he was paralyzed all over his body and bedridden. Since then, she has been working as a factory worker to support the whole family.

A few years ago, her father-in-law, Mr. Tran Van Kinh (66 years old), was diagnosed with lung cancer. Ms. Nguyen Thi Ly (72 years old), Oanh's mother-in-law, used to be able to help with some housework, but since she fell and broke her arm, she has been constantly sick and cannot help much.

She ran around everywhere but still had no money for food or medicine for her husband, and her father-in-law had spent almost all of her worker's salary.

Neighbor Tran Van Dung said: “This family is very poor. Everyone in the neighborhood gives something, but there is not much to give. Ms. Oanh alone, with a monthly salary of more than 4 million, has to feed 7 mouths, medicine for her husband and father-in-law, school fees for her children… He cries all the time, I feel sorry for him…”.

In a dilapidated hut, filled with only old clothes and two broken bicycles, Mrs. Li sat by the bed, holding a towel, occasionally wiping away the drool that flowed from Mr. Binh's mouth. Mr. Binh was deaf and lay still.

Ms. Oanh choked up: “Before, when my husband was healthy, we had enough to eat. Now he is sick and bedridden, and my grandparents are sick too. I have no way to escape this situation. I have to borrow all kinds of money, from books to tuition, to buy things for my children to go to school. Every time I hear someone calling outside the gate, I am startled, thinking they are asking for a debt.”

Mr. Nguyen An Toan, Chairman of Trung Phuc Cuong Commune People's Committee, said: "Uncle Binh's family is very poor. They were poor before, and now the whole family is sick. The commune always gives priority to Uncle Binh's family when there are policies. But in reality, there are not many, on holidays and Tet, there are a few small gifts and visits. I also hope that there will be benefactors and kind-hearted people to help Ms. Oanh's family..."
