Viet Technology Company Limited (Vtech) has just signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan within the framework of the official visit of the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan to Vietnam to expand its operations in the international market.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien said that in the energy sector, Vietnam is promoting structural transformation towards greening, developing renewable energy and new energy sources; at the same time, restarting the Nuclear Power Development Program to diversify and stabilize supply sources, ensure national energy security, serve socio-economic development and contribute to realizing the goal of net zero emissions by 2050.

Kyrgyzstan Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien chaired a meeting with Vietnamese businesses to promote trade and investment with Kyrgyzstan.

The Minister emphasized: “These are areas in which Kyrgyzstan has many advantages and development potential. Therefore, we hope that the authorities and business communities of the two countries will strengthen cooperation and exchange experiences in these areas; thereby bringing economic , trade and energy cooperation between Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan into greater depth, substance and effectiveness, bringing practical benefits to both sides.”

Mr. Nguyen Le Anh - Chairman of VTECH Board of Directors (right) and representative of Kyrgyzstan Ministry of Energy signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the energy sector.

Mr. Nguyen Le Anh - Chairman of VTECH's Board of Directors said that the memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan is an important milestone, affirming the ability of Vietnamese power construction enterprises to reach the international level. Vietnam's power industry has developed remarkably, with nearly 30 GW of renewable energy added and key projects such as the 500 kV line 3 completed quickly. This memorandum of understanding not only opens up specific cooperation opportunities but also demonstrates Vtech's ability to participate in international projects, especially in the construction of power grids and renewable energy plants.

As planned, Vtech will continue to act as an EPC contractor for renewable energy and energy infrastructure projects in Kyrgyzstan, not only focusing on design, equipment supply and construction but also being able to participate in arranging capital for these projects, ensuring stable and effective financial resources for implementation.

With nearly 20 years of experience in the electricity industry, with a technical foundation, a management team and an understanding of the energy industry in Vietnam, Mr. Le Anh proudly shared: "We are proud to bring Vietnamese experience and technology to the world, contributing to promoting sustainable development and international cooperation."

Mr. Le Anh added that the reason Vtech chose Kyrgyzstan is because it is a potential market in the field of renewable energy. The country has the ability to develop hydropower with a capacity of up to 180 billion kWh and the number of sunshine hours is from 2,500 to 2,700 hours per year, creating ideal conditions for solar and hydropower projects. Furthermore, Kyrgyzstan has a power grid system connecting with neighboring countries, opening up opportunities for electricity trading in the Central Asian region.

VTech is constantly striving to apply new technology to the construction of industrial infrastructure for energy, telecommunications, information technology and automation in Vietnam. All are aimed at the goal of becoming the number 1 contractor in Vietnam in terms of both product quality and service reputation.

In 2024, the company recorded many outstanding successes when it was awarded for completing early the key package of construction and installation of the 500 KV line 3 project. Vtech is also the first unit to complete the supply of steel poles with many packages and a large number of steel poles for this key project.
