Belgium 's defeat came from a lack of efficiency in terms of gameplay. The "Red Devils" had more than 60% possession and had 16 shots but all were disappointing.

Romelu Lukaku had the ball in the net twice against Slovakia but both times he was denied goals. He was the representative of Belgium's disappointment with clear chances missed.

Trossard failed to show his Arsenal form and squandered good chances, while Doku was the cause of the defeat with his passes leading to goals, and often abused his individual skills.
