On August 26, Dr. Tu Dung - Director of JW Hospital (HCMC), said that the hospital had just received emergency treatment for a female patient who was bitten by a dog, causing her lips and mouth to tear, the wound was 1.5 cm deep, nearly 5 cm long and continuously bleeding.

Ms. C. said that before that, because she was playing with her pet dog too much, the dog suddenly attacked and bit her face, causing a deep tear in her lips and mouth and a lot of bleeding.

After failing to stop the bleeding, the family quickly took Ms. C. to the emergency room.

Through clinical examination, the patient had a tear of the upper lip muscle 3 cm long, 1.5 cm deep and a tear of the lower lip mucosa nearly 2 cm. In addition to performing the necessary first aid, the aesthetic factor is also very important, especially for facial wounds.

Doctors at JW Hospital opened the wound to clean, disinfect and suture the lips for Ms. C.

"Emergency suturing is a procedure to stop bleeding in time, but using large threads will result in poor aesthetics. Doctors used small threads and sutured each muscle layer to restore the structure, avoiding the case of crooked lips," Dr. Dung shared.

Luckily, Ms. C. arrived at the hospital in time, making the procedure easier for the doctors and avoiding scarring of her face later.
