People's Artist My Uyen shares about accompanying the 6th Ho Chi Minh City Student Film Festival

The 6th Ho Chi Minh City Student Film Festival, organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnamese Student Association in collaboration with Tre Film Studio, with the theme Green, will take place from January 2025 to March 2025.   Mr. Pham Le Minh Khang - Head of the Youth Union of the City Youth Union, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Student Association of Ho Chi Minh City, said that this film festival includes 4 competition genres: short films, reports, music films (MV) and free genre films.

The organizers hope to create opportunities for students to express their voices and perspectives through film works, contributing to building a creative cultural environment and promoting humanistic values. This is also an opportunity to search for and gather high-quality artistic products, created by students themselves.

Mr. Pham Le Minh Khang (right cover) and Mr. Phan Van An (Director of Tre Film Studio) are the heads of the film festival organizing committee.

Mr. Minh Khang said: "This year, any student can participate in the film festival from the smartphone device they have. Besides, all young people in the city, if interested, can participate. Each of you can become an author of a product. Just make a short clip, post it on your personal page and send it to the organizers, that is also a form of spreading positive messages for this life with the film festival".

Taking on the role of professional judge at the film festival, People's Artist My Uyen said that her judging criteria is to prioritize films with natural emotions and genuine acting. In addition, the element of a strange, new, and trendy script is also a plus for the entries. "Please make films that are natural, have content, and are creative, but must follow the rules, don't go overboard. Content and script are very important, you must follow the Green theme. Regarding acting, please make films that are natural, you can act yourself or invite actors to act, as long as it is genuine. If the film has dialogue, it must be clear to convey it to the audience. In addition, filming, sound... are factors for us to score," People's Artist My Uyen emphasized.

The 6th Ho Chi Minh City Student Film Festival is scheduled to close and award ceremony on March 22.

The 6th Ho Chi Minh City Student Film Festival also has ambassadors such as Miss H'Hen Nie, Miss Bao Ngoc, actors Nguyen Quoc Truong Thinh, Ho Giang Bao Son and singer SSay Huynh.

According to the organizers, this year's award structure includes main prizes for each category: 1 first prize, 1 second prize, 1 third prize. In addition, the organizers also awarded secondary prizes such as Most Favorite Film, Best Script Idea, Unit with the largest number of products participating in the festival. The accompanying units also awarded scholarships for directing, filming, acting courses... to teams and individuals whose works won high prizes.
