Recently, information about singer Ella (Tran Gia Hoa) revealing that she was sexually harassed as a child suddenly climbed to the top 2 hot search on Weibo's Entertainment chart.
Ella reveals she was sexually abused as a child
Specifically, appearing at an event, the former SHE member said that when she was 8 or 9 years old, her father's friend's son told her to sit on his lap and sexually harassed her.
“He asked me to sit on his lap and then put his hand in my underwear. I screamed and ran outside but there was no one, so I cried hysterically,” she said.
Years later, Ella discovered that her older and younger sisters had also been sexually harassed by this person, but she kept it all to herself, not daring to tell anyone. It wasn't until she was five months pregnant that she told her family about the incident.
Entering the entertainment industry, Ella once again faced the same situation. “Maybe it wasn’t intentional at the time, but I felt uncomfortable,” the singer shared. Ella refused to reveal more about this.
The singer said she currently teaches her 6-year-old son that "the body has many sensitive parts, no one is allowed to touch them, and you are not allowed to touch other people."
After debuting in the entertainment industry, SHE members continue to face harassment.
Many viewers believe that Ella spoke out because of the Metoo movement that is spreading in Taiwan. Over the past several weeks, the Taiwanese entertainment industry has been in turmoil as a wave of sexual harassment allegations has taken hold.
