On the afternoon of August 6, Son La Provincial Party Committee held a conference to announce the Politburo 's Decision on personnel work.

At the conference, Mr. Mai Van Chinh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee, Central Organization Committee, announced the Politburo 's Decision on approving the position of Secretary of the Son La Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term for Mr. Hoang Quoc Khanh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La province.

Mr. Hoang Quoc Khanh was born on September 2, 1969, Thai ethnic group, hometown in Chieng Pan commune, Yen Chau district, Son La province.

He studied and researched in the Russian Federation, has a PhD in economics and a bachelor of law.

At the 8th session of the 14th Son La Provincial People's Council, term 2016-2021 on June 12, 2019, Mr. Hoang Quoc Khanh was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Son La Provincial People's Committee.

Before being elected as Chairman of the Son La Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Khanh worked at the Son La Provincial Party Committee Office and held the following positions: Vice Chairman, Chairman of the Phu Yen District People's Committee; Secretary of the Phu Yen District Party Committee; Director of the Department of Planning and Investment of Son La Province; Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Chairman of the Son La Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission and Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee.
