Pham Tan Vang won the first gold medal at the 2025 Asian Muay Thai

Boxer Pham Tan Vang excellently defeated his opponent from Hong Kong to win the first gold medal for the Vietnamese delegation at the 2025 Asian Muay Championship taking place in Vietnam.

Pham Tan Vang won his first gold medal at the Asian tournament.

On the afternoon of June 24, the Vietnamese Muay team received good news when athlete Pham Tan Vang won the final match of the U23 under 75 kg against his opponent from the Hong Kong (China) team.

The match took place at 3:00 p.m. and the convincing victory brought Tan Vang his first gold medal in his first participation in the 2025 Asian Muay Championship.

Pham Tan Vang is a boxer of the HCMC Muay Thai team. He is a student of boxer and coach Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat.

It is also the first gold medal a Ho Chi Minh City boxer has brought home for the Vietnamese Muay team at the 2025 Asian Championship. Vietnam promises to win many more gold medals in the coming days.

Besides Pham Tan Vang's success, another male boxer, Ly Diem Phuoc, brought home a silver medal in the U23 under 51 kg category for the Vietnamese team today.

The Vietnamese Muay Thai team has registered 55 fighters in various weight classes and events at the 2025 Asian Championship to be held at Thai Nguyen Provincial Gymnasium from June 20.

For the first time, Vietnam is hosting the Asian Muay Thai Championship and aiming for the highest position.

55 fighters of the Vietnam Muay Thai team, some notable players are Huynh Ha Huu Hieu, Lo Thi Phuong, Bui Yen Ly, Nguyen Thi Phuong Hau, Tran Thi Anh Tuyet, Bang Thi Mai...

At the 2025 Asian Muay Thai Championship, HCMC Muay Thai contributed 7 fighters to the host team.

The tournament attracted 25 countries and territories sending athletes to compete for medals for performances, competitions in the championship and U23 youth championship categories.

Before participating in the 2025 Asian Muay Thai Championship, the Vietnamese team achieved a total of 4 gold medals, 6 silver medals, and 4 bronze medals at the 2025 World Championship in Turkey.

Boxer Huynh Ha Huu Hieu (45kg female) is the only athlete to win a gold medal in the championship competition at the world tournament, the rest are achievements in the U23 competition.
