On January 12, world public opinion had mixed reactions to the British-American attack on Houthi forces in Yemen.
Previously, US and British media reported that on January 11, the US and British militaries conducted airstrikes on more than 10 Houthi locations in a large-scale retaliatory attack using Tomahawk missiles launched from warships and fighter jets.
The strikes targeted Houthi logistics centers, air defense systems and weapons storage sites, US officials said, marking the first US military response to a sustained campaign of drone and missile attacks on commercial shipping in the Red Sea since the conflict between Hamas and Israel in the Gaza Strip.
The airstrike came just a week after the White House and a host of partner nations issued a final warning to the Houthis to stop their attacks or face potential military responses.
Denmark, Germany and several Western countries have expressed support for the British and US strikes against the Houthis. Meanwhile, China has called on all sides to prevent the conflict from spreading, and Russia has said that the US and UK air strikes violate international law and risk escalating tensions in the region.
