Fined 35 million VND and revoked the right to use the fishing boat captain's certificate for exploiting aquatic resources in coastal areas.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoang Nam province has just signed a decision to administratively sanction Mr. Nguyen Van Dinh, a fisherman with a permanent residence in Co Luy Nam village, Nghia Phu commune, Quang Ngai city, Quang Ngai province, for using a fishing vessel with a maximum length of 12 meters to less than 15 meters to exploit aquatic products in coastal areas and using a fishing vessel for trawling to exploit aquatic products in coastal areas.

Accordingly, based on Clause 3 and Clause 6, Article 21 of Decree No. 38/2024/NDCP dated April 5, 2024 of the Government regulating administrative sanctions for violations in the field of fisheries, the above two administrative violations of Mr. Nguyen Van Dinh were fined a total of 35 million VND.

At the same time, an additional penalty is applied, which is to revoke the right to use the second-class fishing vessel captain certificate, No. 02043/CCTVTC, issued by the Center for Seafarer Training and Marine Technology Development of Khanh Hoa province to Mr. Nguyen Van Dinh on December 20, 2024. The implementation period of the additional penalty is 4.5 months, starting from June 13, 2025.

The Provincial People's Committee requests Mr. Nguyen Van Dinh to strictly comply with the penalty decision. If Mr. Dinh fails to voluntarily comply within the deadline, he will be forced to comply according to the provisions of law and for each day of late payment of the fine, the violator must pay an additional 0.05% of the total unpaid fine.
