On the afternoon of October 29, a representative of the Traffic Police Department ( Ministry of Public Security ) said that the Working Group of the Railway Traffic Safety and Order Inspection and Control Team (Road and Railway Patrol and Control Guidance Department - Traffic Police Department) discovered two railway crossing guards violating alcohol concentration.
Accordingly, at 6:55 p.m. on October 28, the Traffic Police Department's working group requested railway staff at Ngoc Hoi level crossing (Km1312+815 Thong Nhat railway line, Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province) to check for alcohol concentration violations.
After checking, the Working Group discovered that Mr. D.NT (born in 1974, position: Barrier Guard) violated the alcohol concentration at 0.619 mg/L of breath. This is a very high violation level, 1.5 times higher than the highest violation level prescribed in Decree 100/ND-CP.
For the above violation, the Working Group drew up a record and fined Mr. D.NT 7 million VND.
Also here, the Working Group discovered that Mr. NTG (born in 1983, position: Barrier guard) violated the alcohol concentration at 0.103 mg/L of breath.
Mr. NTG was fined 3 million VND by the Working Group.
Along with making a record of the violation, the Traffic Police Department will send a notice to Vietnam Railways Corporation for consideration and disciplinary action.
Previously, on October 5, at Phu Dien Station, Hanoi (Km 15+050 of the Bac Hong-Van Dien railway line), the Traffic Police Department's working group also discovered Mr. N.D.H. (born in 1973, position: Train operator on duty) violating the alcohol concentration level of 0.290 mg/L of breath.
According to a representative of the Traffic Police Department, the use of alcohol by railway employees while working is very dangerous, stemming from the subjective mentality of those performing official duties.
“The working process is not 24/7, but only during certain hours when the train is running, so there is some subjectivity. Alcohol concentration can affect the ability to react and perform official duties of railway staff," said a representative of the Traffic Police Department.
