VHO - On the afternoon of April 26, many activities to explore and promote the value of the Documentary Heritage "Reliefs on nine bronze cauldrons in Hue Royal Palace" were held on the occasion of Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2025.

At the Tang Tho Lau relic - a library under the Nguyen Dynasty, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center has organized many activities to display, experience and educate about heritage in the program "Discovering and promoting the value of documentary heritage" "Reliefs on nine bronze cauldrons in Hoang Cung Hue".

Secondary school students in the area participated in heritage exploration activities, including: 3D tours and documentaries; visiting the exhibition space of documents about the Nine Tripod Cauldrons and the reliefs on the nine bronze cauldrons in the Hue Imperial Palace.

The 3D technology exhibition of the Nine Tripod Cauldrons brings a vivid virtual space, recreating with the sharpest and most delicate details of the traditional bronze casting industry.

The documentary about the Nine Tripod Cauldrons and the reliefs cast on the nine bronze cauldrons in the Hue Imperial Palace also reveals the heritage story, from the manufacturing process, artistic quintessence to the thoughts and aspirations behind each relief, helping viewers understand the true meaning of each image.

Mr. Hoang Viet Trung, Director of Hue Monuments Conservation Center, emphasized: The event not only honoring reading culture, but also an opportunity for the community and tourists, especially young people, to experience, feel and spread the value of the nation's precious documentary heritage through "The reliefs on nine bronze peaks in Hue Imperial Palace".

Within the framework of the program, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center also organized activities to promote heritage values, such as organizing the game "Quiz about the relief images on the nine bronze cauldrons" to help students and tourists explore and better understand the reliefs carved on the nine bronze cauldrons.

It is known that this activity will be maintained for a long time, for primary and secondary school students, tourists who love cultural heritage... Thereby, stimulating thinking, cultivating historical knowledge and practicing coordination skills of players.

Or the game "Find the pattern" based on 3D model, brings unique experience and interaction, promoting observation and memory for players.

On the second floor of Tang Tho Lau, visitors can also experience the art of embossing and drawing patterns simulating the patterns of the nine bronze peaks using Do paper and ink. These works can be used as souvenirs imbued with traditional culture…

“The reliefs on nine bronze cauldrons in the Hue Imperial Palace” (also known as the Nine Cauldrons) were recognized as a UNESCO Asia-Pacific Documentary Heritage at the 10th plenary session of the Memory of the World Committee for Asia-Pacific (MOWCAP) in Ulan Bator, Mongolia on May 8, 2024.

The Nine Tripod Cauldrons were cast in 1835 under the reign of King Minh Mang and completed in 1837, and have been placed in the courtyard of The Mieu Temple ever since. On these nine bronze cauldrons, there are 162 reliefs, considered a vivid “Encyclopedia” of images of Vietnam at that time.

Since 2012, the Nine Tripod Cauldrons have been recognized as a National Treasure by the Prime Minister.
