Women members join hands to protect the environment
Despite her old age, Ms. Doan Thi Kim Xinh (Phuoc Ly commune, Tay Ninh province) is still enthusiastically participating in local activities, including New Rural Development. At the age of 77, she often joins the Women's Union members in cleaning, collecting garbage, planting flowers, etc. on the roads in the hamlet. Ms. Xinh shared: "Every month, we do a general cleaning together twice on some rural roads, both cleaning the village roads and alleys, and creating an environmental landscape, contributing to the successful construction of a model New Rural Commune in the locality."
Over the past time, the National Target Program on New Rural Development has truly become a deep, wide, and strongly spreading movement, creating a new look for rural areas such as synchronous investment in infrastructure, the material and spiritual life of the people has been constantly improved, and the rural appearance has become increasingly prosperous.
In addition, the Campaign “Building a family of 5 no’s, 3 clean’s, contributing to fostering Vietnamese family values” has aroused the sense of responsibility, initiative and creativity of HVPN in building happy families, safe communities, green, clean and beautiful living environments. From there, a civilized lifestyle is formed, preserving and promoting traditional cultural values.
Based on the direction from the Central Committee, every year, the Women's Union at all levels in the province has proactively developed plans, implemented activities on schedule and effectively disbursed capital for new rural construction. In particular, the work of supporting women in economic development and sustainable poverty reduction is outstanding. Social activities, livelihood support, scholarship awards, and building shelters of love are also promoted, contributing to improving the quality of life for women.
To promote the effectiveness of the program in the next phase, the Women's Union at all levels will focus on key tasks such as synchronously implementing the program, effectively exploiting resources; providing specific guidance on the contents assigned to the Union to take charge of implementation; promoting propaganda, raising public awareness; effectively implementing rural environmental protection work; supporting economic development for women; maintaining and replicating effective models, building new models; strengthening inspection, supervision, and timely rewarding of outstanding collectives and individuals;.../.
