Binh Hung Hoa Ward organizes "0 Dong Supermarket", providing capital support for members in difficulty

On July 19, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and socio-political organizations of Binh Hung Hoa Ward (HCMC) organized the festival "Connecting love - For the development of Binh Hung Hoa" with many practical and meaningful activities to care for people in difficult circumstances.

At the festival, 20 units and individuals participated in supporting the program of taking care of goods for the "0 Dong Supermarket" with a total value of 672 million VND; supporting the "For the Poor" Fund of the ward with an amount of 145 million VND. The total mobilization cost reached 817 million VND.

From this fund, the organizing committee awarded 10 business capital support packages to women members in difficult circumstances (total value of 20 million VND); presented 200 gifts and 300 shopping vouchers at the "0 VND Supermarket" to poor and near-poor households in the area.

In addition, the festival also organized a program to examine and consult on eye diseases, perform free cataract surgery for 10 cases; at the same time, it carried out propaganda activities, provided instructions on safe driving, gave away helmets and changed free oil for people in need.

Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Binh Hung Hoa Ward, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Nguyet, said that the festival not only contributes to taking care of social security but also demonstrates the role and position of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and mass organizations in promoting the tradition of great national unity, mobilizing the strength of the community to join hands in building a sustainable local development.
