Dao Minh Quang Foundation first awards lifetime scholarships to young Vietnamese talents

With his musical achievements and good high school results, 12-year-old singer Cao Phu Quy was awarded a lifetime scholarship by the Dao Minh Quang Foundation, breaking the tradition for the first time. The scholarship award ceremony was held on the evening of November 8 at the Au Co Theater, Hanoi.

The goal of this Scholarship Award Ceremony of Dao Minh Quang Foundation is to encourage, motivate and honor a young talent and Cao Phu Quy's efforts in studying and training in the field of music and general education in the past years and in the future. This important event recognizes and marks a big step forward in the path of studying, music and art of a young talent.

Speaking at the scholarship awarding ceremony, Dr. Dao Minh Quang said that in recent years, in promoting general education , vocational training and university training, music and culture, the Dao Minh Quang Foundation has awarded many scholarships and prizes to students with excellent academic achievements and difficult family circumstances at a number of universities and high schools, to musical talents and sponsored music projects and German-Vietnamese concert programs, as well as cultural and musical exchange projects between Germany and Vietnam.

But this is the first time Dao Minh Quang Foundation has awarded the Lifetime Talent Scholarship to a student, a very young artist.

This event is an example of the mission of the Dao Minh Quang Foundation and the wish of the founder of the Foundation in encouraging a good student, a young talent, raising the level of artistic dreams, expanding the space for young Vietnamese talents to confidently shine, creating conditions to improve the level of music and the quality of music training and thereby helping young people to develop their creativity to the fullest.

Cao Phu Quy is currently studying two programs in parallel: the general education program at Ly Thai To Secondary School ( Hanoi ) and the 9-year intermediate program specializing in piano at the Vietnam National Academy of Music (he is in his 4th year).

Although he was born and raised in a family with no one in the arts or music, with his musical talent, especially his natural voice and passion for performing, Cao Phu Quy has won many national and international singing and piano performance awards. A few months ago, he also released his first MV called Rung Khoc.

"Cao Phu Quy is not only an excellent student in middle school but also a promising young musical talent who needs to be encouraged," said Dr. Dao Minh Quang.

Speaking after receiving the scholarship, Cao Phu Quy confidently shared that he was very moved to receive the valuable scholarship and vowed that after his career is successful, he will return to become a philanthropist to support young talents like the ones he is currently being supported.
