Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Da Nang Basketball Championship, Mr. To Duy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of New Sports Joint Stock Company, head of the tournament organizing committee, said: "DBC marks the final stage of VBC before the national finals are held. The DBC tournament targets both professional and amateur players with the addition of a reference level with international players. In addition to the framework of the matches, the tournament is also a place where cultural, entertainment and tourism elements intersect."
Also at the opening ceremony, athlete Nguyen Thanh An took an oath to compete with solidarity, honesty, nobility and dedication. On behalf of the referees participating in the tournament, referee Le Quoc Tuan also took an oath to conduct the matches in the spirit of honesty, objectivity, impartiality and in accordance with the law.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, there were exciting and dramatic matches, attracting a large number of Da Nang people to watch and cheer. The Quang Nam team won 64-53 against the young players of U.18 Da Nang.
Despite being behind for most of the time, Da Nang University surprisingly tied the score at 75-75 before going into overtime with an impressive buzzer beater by Le Khoa. However, the Friends team played very steadily and evenly and regained their rhythm to continue to widen the gap. In the end, Friends won 87-77.
In addition to the matches, the organizers also organized many interesting sideline activities, contests and many special art performances.
The Da Nang Basketball Championship is held daily from May 27 to June 4 at the Son Tra District Multi-purpose Gymnasium (Da Nang).
