Son My: Urgently support people to overcome the consequences of storms

A storm blew off the roofs of five houses in Son My commune (Lam Dong province). Local authorities urgently supported people to overcome the consequences.

The roof was almost completely blown off.

A sudden thunderstorm occurred at 12:15 pm on July 20, in Pho Tri hamlet, Son My commune, blowing off the roofs of 5 houses, including 2 poor households and 2 households in difficult circumstances.

Immediately after receiving the information, the Standing Committee of the Son My Commune Party Committee directed the People's Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune to coordinate urgently to implement the work of overcoming the consequences.

A metal roof was blown away by the tornado.

Comrade Huynh Quoc Thai - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee directly went to the scene, mobilized military forces, police, border guards and member organizations of the Front to help people temporarily cover, clean up the scene, protect property, and minimize possible further damage due to complicated weather developments.

Authorities transport belongings to a safe place to help people.

By the afternoon of the same day, the forces had supported the temporary roofing, cleaned up the house, rearranged furniture, and covered damaged areas, helping people to soon stabilize their lives.

The Commune People's Committee also promptly visited and encouraged the affected families and directed specialized agencies to urgently count the damage and propose immediate support plans, including necessities, protective materials and temporary accommodation for households.

The Commune Fatherland Front Committee has actively mobilized local mass organizations and people to support local forces, join hands to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity and mutual love of the community.

Tomorrow morning (July 21), the Standing Committee of the Commune Party Committee will hold a meeting to listen to the Commune People's Committee's quick report on the situation and support plans, and direct timely handling of arising issues.

Currently, the recovery work is continuing to be implemented. The commune government continues to closely monitor weather developments, proactively respond to plans, and ensure safety for the people.
