The localities where the artist group conducted fieldwork were the provinces along the Red River, starting from Lao Cai and ending at Ba Lat estuary, Tien Hai district, Thai Binh province.
This is an opportunity for 24 artists in the group to feel and explore the land and people of the provinces along the Red River, from which they will have "material" to compose new, quality musical works.
After the field trip through the localities in Lao Cai province, the delegation traveled along the Red River and arrived at Ba Lat estuary, Tien Hai district, Thai Binh province. Here, the delegation had an information exchange with Con Vanh Border Guard Station, Tien Hai District Cultural Office, Thai Binh province.
After completing the field trip, the musicians will complete their works and submit them to the Organizing Committee before August 5, 2024. The Organizing Committee will select a number of quality songs to award prizes and serve promotional and propaganda activities within the framework of the Red River Festival Project.
Ba Lat estuary - where the Red River flows into the Gulf of Tonkin, on the right bank belongs to Giao Thien commune, Giao Thuy district (Nam Dinh), the left bank belongs to Tien Hai district (Thai Binh). The Red River flows here after a journey of nearly 1,200 kilometers, originating from China. The part flowing in Vietnam alone is more than 500 kilometers long. In the past, Ba Lat estuary was an important waterway gateway to Thang Long and is now the natural boundary between the two provinces of Nam Dinh and Thai Binh.
Ba Lat has created a brackish water ecosystem with a rich flora and fauna, creating favorable conditions for local people to raise and catch aquatic products and develop ecotourism. This will be the material for artists to "cherish" and compose songs that connect the localities and regions where the Red River flows through.
