Tan Truong: 10 billion VND reward is motivation, not pressure

Goalkeeper Bui Tan Truong said the 10 billion VND that Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club offered as a reward if they were promoted was the motivation for him and the whole team to fight against SHB Da Nang.

On the afternoon of June 26, the Organizing Committee of the 2024-2025 Bia Sao Vang play-off match between SHB Da Nang Club and Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc held a press conference before the match. The winning team in this match will earn the right to play in the 2025-2026 V-League.

Speaking at the press conference, goalkeeper Bui Tan Truong said he will try his best to help Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club win promotion.

He said: "I have played in many big matches, not the first time playing in the First Division or playing in the play-off. In 2008, I helped the first division club Dong Thap beat V-League team Binh Dinh 1-0 in the play-off match at Thong Nhat Stadium.

Therefore, I have experience and will try my best to help Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club win the right to be promoted to V-League for the second time. I will strive for that goal."

In order to achieve the goal of promotion for the first time in history, the leaders of Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Club have offered a bonus of 10 billion VND. This is a record high bonus, double the bonus that the organizing committee gave to Nam Dinh Club - the champion of V-League 2024-2025.

When asked if this large bonus is a motivation or pressure for him and his teammates, Tan Truong replied: "This is a way to motivate players and coaching staff. All teams have pressure - from players, coaches to leaders.

But for me, that is not negative pressure, but motivation for us to strive and fight our best to win."

"We prepared for this match not just for a few days, but for a whole year. The coaching staff, the management, the staff, the supporters - all of them worked tirelessly to bring the team to V.League.

Now is the time to go out and do my best. I will play with all my passion. As long as I am healthy, I will continue to play. The immediate goal is to give my all for the team. The future will come later," said the 39-year-old goalkeeper.
