Poet and literary critic Hoang Thuy Anh's 150-page poetry collection "Fragrant from Pain" with 74 poems was introduced to the audience by the Writers' Association Publishing House in early July 2025. A familiar face in contemporary literature, Hoang Thuy Anh left her mark in both criticism and poetry with a feminine, strong and profound voice.

With "Fragrance from Pain", she continues her poetic journey with words filtered from experience, contemplation and the very private moments of life.
“Fragrance from pain” is not a sentimental lament or a trivial line of sadness. It is a journey back to the inner self, facing loneliness, hurt and nameless silences but carrying extraordinary courage and determination.
The structure of the images in the poem is quiet but not dark; the tone is deep but not heavy. The duties of being a mother, a wife, a writer... appear as hidden currents in the collection of poems.
In Hoang Thuy Anh's poetry, there is anxiety about one's fate, but there is also steadfastness in the way one loves life, loves people and loves oneself.
Each poem is like a deep musical note that resonates, then spreads a very unique fragrance – the fragrance of pain, of experience, and of tolerance.
